Affiliate links
Hearth & Lamp participates in several affiliate programs, which means we may earn a commission when you
buy through links in our articles. We disclose this at the top and bottom of every article that contains
affiliate links, and we mark such links with rel="sponsored" in their HTML.
The presence of an affiliate relationship does not influence whether we cover a product, how we evaluate it, or what conclusion we reach. We have refused to cover, and continue to refuse, products from brands whose affiliate programs offer us favorable terms when those products did not earn coverage on their merits.
The networks we currently work with may include FlexOffers (Lamps Plus), Impact (Our Place), Amazon Associates, and Sovrn Commerce as a fallback. Specific brand relationships are noted on the relevant article when material.
How we evaluate
We do not write launch-day reviews. A piece earns a recommendation only after multi-month, ideally multi-year use in a real home. When a product is too new for that bar, we say so explicitly and present what we know rather than imply more.
Prices, model numbers, and availability are checked at publication and re-checked quarterly. If a product we recommended is discontinued or materially changed, we update the article and add a dated note at the top.
Product loans & samples
We accept product samples for review under three conditions: (1) we keep editorial discretion about whether and how the product is covered; (2) the loan is disclosed in the article; (3) products that retail above a threshold are returned to the brand or donated after the review period. We do not accept paid placements or sponsored copy presented as editorial.
Corrections
If you find a factual error, write to [email protected]. We add dated correction notes to articles when meaningful changes are made.
Use of AI
We use large-language-model tooling to assist with research, outlining, and copy-editing. Every published piece is reviewed and revised by a human editor against our standards before publication. We do not publish AI-generated text as fact without human verification.
